Sunday Girl

It is Sunday evening and I am now ready to get ready for bed and relax for the evening.

I like to take advantage on Sundays and get bits done I am not able to get done in the week. I had a steaming hot bath, a nice cooked breakfast in my local cafe, spent some time in the park so my son could have a good run around and then did a bit of shopping in Wilkos.

We then popped to Homebase as we are in the process of changing our home around a bit, and looked for some new lights. I managed to find some that caught my eye.

We then returned home and I had a clear out in my Guest Room/Home Office.

Then my mum arrived with my niece at which my son and niece had fun playing, whilst my mum and I sorted out the garden.

All in all a good structured day. Now watching Strictly Come Dancing results, and soon will depart to bed to get ready for tomorrows adventures too.

Many thanks for reading,

Good old clear out

Hi everyone decided to post on a Saturday for a change as I usually have to work on a Saturday so making the most of my day off, to post.

I have written a new post on my blog site:

https://theparentingadventurestipsandtricks.wordpress.com/2017/09/30/returning-to-work/

Talking about returning to work after having a child.

I have also written a new blog on my Tales of my travels page one Carriesrealworld.com sharing some new finds I have discovered in London.

I am in the process of having a clear out of my home as I like to start doing this time of year, and going through my clothes, paperwork, emails, draws and cupboards, to begin a fresh for each season. I am going to have a good clear out this time round as want a real less cluttered home and so going to be super ruthless this time.

Check out my Season Clear ups page.

I just look around and see that there are things that I have bought thinking I will get around in using that but never do.

I really want to give my home a make over, and a good proper one.

I have been catching up on my T.V aswell. I loved Liar this week , unfortunately I didn’t manage to see the second one, but watched the third episode where we find out who is the Liar. It has to continue on as not being a spoiler whom ever is lying has got to be found out.

I also watched Doctor Foster, good turn of events and can’t wait to see what happens next same with Cold Feet, loved the episode last night and didn’t expect it to end as it did, I think Jimmy Nesbitt’s character I think is going to get a shock and a broken heart.

I am so pleased Strictly is back, I think first show was brilliant and Debbie McGee’s Paso was the best I have seen and it only first week, look forward to see what else she does tonight definitely a contender to the final got to be.

I had a good birthday, had a quiet meal indoors, went for a meal today with my husband and son, and tomorrow out for lunch with my husband, son, my mum and step dad, at a restaurant called Bills, which I hear do really nice food. I will report back and tell you what I think.

Until then have a good rest of the weekend people I will blog again next week.

Many thanks for reading,

Disastrous morning

Yes it was an explosion of pooh, I had to deal with this morning. Sorry if this is TMI, but I had say it, it wasn’t the morning I had planned, especially being nursery day. I feel there will be others who will give me sympathy.

I thought it would be okay to have a little extra 5 minutes in bed would be okay but how wrong was I?

So I had to give son a bath before nursery this morning and then get him dressed, take him to nursery and then clean up the mess, wasn’t even 8 o’clock.

After cleaning up the mess oh and I forgot to mention I had a blocked toilet to sort out too. My fault, putting baby wipes down the toilet is a big NO NO.

Apart from that I managed to catch up on some TV and watched a lovely program about David Jason, his life on TV and how he became a big household name, was great to watch. Only Fools and Horses is my ultimate favourite, and I wish it could come back just one last time.

Then caught up with TOWIE, I know but I am allowed one guilty pleasure. Last night I watch the Great British Bake Off and Doctor Foster, and I have gotten back into Eastenders after 10 years or so.

I was watching some old ones, and got me wanting to watch the recent episodes. I have no idea really what is going on, but it was good to watch it again.

Please check out my new book review on my main site that I wrote today,

http://www.carriesrealworld.com/book-reviews

I didn’t do much for my wedding anniversary, we had a drink in doors with our dinner, as we had a take away, then watched TV in bed, that was it.

So I would love to know what you’ve been up to, and how your weeks been, please comment below, What is your favourite show David Jason was in, and do you know what has been happening in Eastenders please I would love for someone to fill me in.

Many thanks for reading,

What a week it has been, condolences to those who have been effected by the hurricanes, it’s frightening what nature can do at times, and not much you can do, but to try and give love to those effected.

We are now officially in Autumn in the U.K and weather been a bit hit and miss, one minute it is pouring with rain and the next sunny, the concores are now out so time to collect to stop those creepy crawling spiders entering the home.

I know not everyone believes that myth about spiders and concores, but I do.

I would like to send a special message as we passed the anniversary of 9/11, I remember that day so clearly, I was working for the Hammersmith and Fulham Council and someone got a call from some family who worked in the trade center, and I thought it was being exaggerated until I saw what was happening myself.

I remember the day after feeling so sad and wanted to hide away and grieve. It was just horrific, that I was happy that Eastenders was on, to feel some distraction from it and watched a lot of comedies to take my mind of what had happened. All people had done that day is to go to work, yet there were some cowardly people wanting to take that away. My heart goes out to the victims and families of someone who lost their lives that day, RIP.

On a happier note I did watch the start of the new series of Strictly Come Dancing, of all the celebrities being partnered up, I thought it was a brilliant launch show. I can’t wait until two weeks for the actual new series to begin. I think Bryan Conley and Debbie McGee have natural rhythm and so I will look forward to those two, and the guy from Eastenders. I wonder who will be the dark horse this year, if there is one?

I watched more of the X Factor which wasn’t bad, they have made it more about the singers and cut it with the sob stories, as that was getting on my nerves. Even when The Voice began to do that it got on my nerves and concentrated more on the actual auditions themselves, some were really good, that I will continued to watch it.

I missed Coldfeet so I will have catch up on that, but I loved the new series called Liar, on ITV 1 don’t know what is going to happen there or who is telling the truth. I watched more of Doctor Foster, nearly missed it due to falling a sleep but was good from what I watched and is a good series.

In two days time I celebrate my wedding anniversary my 11th Wedding Anniversary, we haven’t planned anything but I sure we will do something to celebrate.

If you have a wedding coming up then congratulations, and remember it is about the two of you, so if you get those like we did who invite themselves, you can say no, as we invited those who did that, but they never ended up turning up.

The other tip I would give, if you are planning your wedding, tell all those involved ahead of time of what is going to happen so they know what music to play and when they are needed for the day. You don’t want speeches to be done after your bestman has had a skinful of beer, something may come up you don’t what to be mentioned. Not saying that this happened, but we did have a mix up with the music. Our fault as we didn’t send out a criteria of what music was to begin and where.

So if you any tips on weddings or you too have a wedding anniversary coming up, I would love to know.

Many thanks for reading,

I love a Car Boot Sale

Hello and I hope you all have had a good week, if you hadn’t seen my Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/carrie.challoner

I sadly lost my dad at the weekend, so been a sad week, but I still nevertheless can a good weekend. We went to a car boot sale in Hook Arena, bought some bits and pieces, a new bathroom mat, tea towels, a book and a Thomas Tank Engine lunch box.

I watched the new series of Doctor Foster, on BBC 1 just now as I fell a sleep and missed it lastnight, but brilliant first episode and looking forward to next week, as also there is a new series of Cold Feet. Yippee

Check out my new blog on my website https://everyonecanbuildacastle.wordpress.com

I share  a video about young carers who’s parents have mental health issues, and they talk about how it effects their life, I also posted a blog on my blog post,

https://theparentingadventurestipsandtricks.wordpress.com

I share a video about sextuplets who have now turned 30 and how it effected their parents watching their six daughters growing up.

I did start to watch the X Factor but I have to admit sorry for those who love the show, but I found it boring, so didn’t see all of the X Factor first show. However I do like and love it is back on, Dragon’s Den, would never go on the show but do find it addictive.

So what have you watched and been up to this week I would love to know.

Many thanks for reading,

Bake Off

I wrote a new blog on my website:

https://theparentingadventurestipsandtricks.wordpress.com

I share a Youtube video I watched last night about Sextuplets who I remember watching as a child, and now they are in their 30’s. I just found it inspiring, and made me realise how lucky I am, as those parents of the Sextuplets must not have slept at all.

I have also been watching the programs about Lady Diana, as it is 20 years since she died, and I remember that week so well, it was pure sadness. Even on the radio they kept playing ballads throughout that week up until the funeral and I remember just crying my heart out.

It to me was so cruel, because she still had so much more to give and her life was changing for the better, but it came to a stop. It made me realise how fragile life can be and could come to an end at any minute, you just never know.

I think she would be so proud of her two boys, because of the men they have become and her legacy will continue on through her two boys.

As well as that I have taken up swimming and went this morning, even went to use the Spa but it was closed, but nice to do a bit of swimming, so refreshing and it is amazing how you can ache so much afterwards.

I watched The Great British Bake Off last night on Channel 4. I am so glad they have kept to the same format, even though they have new presenters and a new judge, I really enjoyed it. A bit off putting with the adverts, but apart from that was good the first one, and what I like is that they hadn’t changed too much about it.

Then there is Strictly Come Dancing. I can not wait for it to begin and already looking forward to seeing Bryan Conley and Debbie McGee, I just wonder who they will be paired up with and how the new judge Shirley Ballas, whom has taken over from Len Goodman, will be like.

So lots more to come. I would love to know what you are looking forward to on TV, and if there is any programs you can recommend to me to watch. Are you too a strictly come dancing fan, I would love to hear from you.

A True Entertainer

It was on Friday evening when I met up with my husband’s family and we were having a few drinks in the pub called Oasis, in Southampton, when I heard the news about Bruce Forsyth.

I went to see him some years ago Live when I went to see the Sunday Night at the London Palladium, he was truly amazing. He didn’t have a warm up man or anything, he took charge of the audience throughout the show, and was in my eyes truly brilliant.

I always say that you can tell when someone is truly good when they are brilliant live, and he truly was, and I am gutted that I never got my dream which was to tap dance in Sir Bruce, but I will always still dream of this in my heart.

He was a truly a wonderful entertainer, see video below of his interviews.

His legacy will continue, but you will not see another real entertainer like Sir Bruce again. He was one of a kind, and a national treasure, and he will be truly missed on our TV Screens.

Truly talented, could play the piano, tap dance and be funny, and win the audience over all the time.

God bless you Sir Bruce you were a True Entertainer.

Places to go and people to see

I thoroughly enjoyed the Athletic World Championships this year that ended last Sunday, and so happy that Great Britain and Northern Ireland did well in the relays. The Gold medal our boys won in the 4×100 relay was so unexpected that it made the championships even more amazing, as unfortunately Moy Farah didn’t get another gold in the 10,000 metres.

My son now keeps mimicking the runners, and runs across our living room floor, so you never know I could end up having a 100 metres sprinter in our home, who knows!

Now we have the football season again, but not as excited this year, as it is so much about the money that it has lost its spark in my opinion, I know there will be people reading this shouting NO, but sorry it has.

It has been a good week took my son Swimming for the first time and he was so confident that he was like a little WATER BABY, and didn’t freak out once, as I had originally suspected. We took him to Richmond Pools, which had a childrens heated pool. Thank you mum, as now I want to go swimming again, it is such good exercise and fun, that you can do it as a whole family activity.

Here’s a picture of my niece, Gracie and Henry eating some lunch together, which I took yesterday in Wimbledon Park, which has a little water fountain which children can play in, but Henry and Gracie were not interested in that so they played on the swings.

Wimbledon Park is a lovely park and not far away from the Wimbledon Tennis. It has about 3 playgrounds with different climbing frames and swings, and a cafe where you can have something to eat, and a lake where you can feed the ducks and the swans.

If you are near the Wimbledon area, do check out Wimbledon Park, great location for kids and there are gates to each playground so kids can’t easily get out. They even had some bouncy castles there yesterday too, and Henry and Gracie enjoyed it so much they both fell asleep in the car on the way back home.

Great place to go for a picnic this time of year. This weekend coming my hubby and I are going to have some time out just the two of us, and going to Southampton for the weekend to celebrate his brother’s, who passed away last year life, and spend sometime with his family.

So I will report back next week, until then many thanks for reading,

The Rock

Since last week I have been enjoying the Athletic World Championships, being hosted in Londons Olympic stadium. Mo Farah is running again tonight, which I will try my hardest to stay awake for.

Its been really good to watch, seeing all the events like the Javolin, hurdles and long jump. We brits have been unlucky, Laura Muir just missed out on a medal, and I know our girl Hitchon who took part in the hammer, just missed out too, she threw brilliantly but couldn’t quite make it to a winning throw though.

I do love my evenings in bed, watching the TV, my favourite thing at the moment. I saw this brilliant video earlier today of The Rock (Dwayne Johnson) singing tune to a new disney film Moana, here is a clip below:

I really want to see this film now, The Rock does the main charactors voice.

My husband and I had a last minute weekend away in Southampton, to celebrate his brother’s birthday, who sadly no longer with us, with his mum and dad.

We are going back to Southampton just my husband and I in a few weeks time, this time for another weekend away as it will be Marks Anniversary of when he sadly lost his life, and see my husband’s family again.

Anyway that is it for this week, I hope to those on holiday now have a great one and I will post another blog as of next week.

Many thanks for reading,

Rainy Summertime

Hey everyone! I didn’t blog yesterday because I wanted to use the time to work on my next book, plus do a bit more walking which hasn’t been going too well but I try to do a bit each day.

I have been loving my evenings watching TV, and watched what I consider a classic, Police Academy 3, I love that film and watching Jamie Olivier at home, where he shows how you can make delicious food buy using and growing your own produce.

I watched the lovely document of where William and Harry speak about their mother Princess Diana, and how much of a great mother and people’s person she was.

image from the Daily Mail

I think we can all say how proud Diana would be of her two boys. I took my friend up London, enjoying the sites by going on the London Eye Riverboat cruise. I never grow bored of doing that so peaceful and nice and then went to the London Aquarium to see some sharks and penguins.

Then I send good bye to my mum and step dad whom are on holiday now, I so wanted to jump in their suitcase but I am sure they are relieved I didn’t. I was watching some YouTube videos today of planes, because I so want to go on a plane again, but sadly I will have to wait. It is UK for the time being.

I am away this weekend to see family and enjoying the rest of the so called Summer.

That’s all for this week, many thanks for reading,
