Enjoying TV in bed

First of all I have to share this song (see below) which I am obssessed with. I have been playing it every single day since I first heard it, it is Calvin Harris “Catch fish” featuring Katie Perry, Pharrell Williams and Big Sean.

This is my song for this Summer, of this year. I have been enjoying my evenings of TV in bed, yes and been catching up on films, comedy and reality TV, “Keeping up with the Kardasians”, watching the comedy “Not Going Out” starring and written by Lee Mac, Mrs Browns boys and films, Legally Blonde 1 and 2.

I have yet to catch up on Doctor Who, but I will. I am so looking forward to seeing him regenerate into the new doctor, but there is two at the moment, the original doctor who and the doctor, and is facing the cybermen.

Today I walked around one of my favourite parks Battersea, and took a bus up to Oxford Street, looked into the Primark and came straight back out. I think I was just overwhelmed of how much was in there and so checked a few pieces out but didn’t buy. VERY RARE FOR ME!

I am liking the bags and little pieces they have like the make up, and am definitley gonna go back there and by some new goodies.

One of my favourite stores is TK Maxx so decided to save my money and may have splurge in there today. I do like my local store, it is good size they have different bits like stationary, skincare, mensware, kids stuff and clothes.

If I do splurge I will take a photo and post on my instagram page, see how the day takes me.

Anyway have a good week people and many thanks for reading,

Thunderstorms

What a thunderstorm we had lastnight?

And yes it did wake me up. However lucky my son didn’t wake up.

I ended putting the TV on at about 3am, as I struggled to get back to sleep.

It is thunderstorms that clears the air, and I know some people love to watch. I myself I am not afraid to admit are still scared of thunderstorms, so I am not the type of person who will watch it all from my window. I prefer that all the curtains to be closed and to have one window open.

I used as a kid hide underneath the school table if we had a thunderstorm whilst in class, and would dread having a thunderstorm in the middle of night as I know I would be awake the entire night.

Thunder, Thunderstorm, Violet, Purple, Storm, Weather

One thing it has done is made today cooler, and I woke up after the thunderstorm had finished with putting the radio on listening to some tunes on magic FM.

The radio station I mainly listen to when in my husbands has his car is, Radio Jackie whom play some brilliant music.

I did watch the The Voice Kids UK and I predicted the winner, as I knew that final performance by the girl Jess, that she seemed to take a step up above the rest.

I thought it was in all a brilliant show, and thought the The Voice UK kids shows that they don’t necessarily have a record deal, but opens up doors for them to become a singer and pop star in the future.

I haven’t caught up with Doctor Who as of yet, to see him regenerate into a woman.

I will be interested in how the new doctor will be like now that he is now a she.

I did watch an old film lastnight called The First Knight starring Richard Gere and Sean Connery. That film seems quite tame after watching The Game Of Thrones, as that has people getting their heads ripped off.

Of course it is all film made, but boy is Game Of Thrones gory or what?

I did enjoy the Wimbledon Tennis this year, my predictions were wrong as I did think that Andy Murray would made it to the the final, but it was still a good tournament. My son is obsessed with playing tennis now, which he calls “Test”.

It is good to make the most of what they enjoy, and encourage their enjoyment. Of course it does take its toil when your child expects to play it all day long.

Anyway that it what I have been up to, and there will be more to come soon.

Many thanks for reading,

Embrace your children

I have just update a new blog, which I thought I had posted, but must not have done as it was in my draft’s list. I have written about my holiday in Bournemouth. You can find it on this page, below this blog.

The hot weather always gets me thinking about holidays, and today was no exception. Today I took a walk up London as part of my training, and boy it was scorching.

If you didn’t know I am doing the London Marathon walk in September, raising money for Anxiety UK, I am actually walking it on the 23rd September of this year.

I hope when the new South West trains are put into place that they add air conditioning, as going up to London was a bit hot.

I have been watching game of thrones, and found some videos of Games of Throne bloopers check out example below:

I got to say (not being a spoiler) but it gets gorier and there is more blood to come and my hubby and I are on series 5, so catching up fast.

I have bought some new mother and baby items in the passed week so I will share these on my Parenting Adventures blog site soon, as the items I purchased, are great if you are potty training and if your child too has grown from sitting in a high chair, to sitting in normal seats at the dinner table.

It is amazing how our children independence grows and so my focus has been my son the last couple weeks, so not been up to much else but that is parenthood it will take over at times, and you just have to embrace it.

You can’t beat a bit of music

Since my last blog (last week) my world has been focused on Potty training. Check out my blogs on these two sites https://theparentingadventurestipsandtricks.wordpress.com and https://theparentingadventures.wordpress.com)

What I can is, it is challenging, but come the evening when all is peaceful in my world, my husband and I have been catching up on the Games of thrones we are still on series 4, get ready for the new series 7 starts.

I do love a box set.

I have also discovered a singer called Harriet, who is a beautiful singer. Sounds so much like Karen Carpenter, with that deep angel like empathy to her voice (easy listening), I would recommend to check her music out, as it like healing music.

Here is her version of the song, Broken For You,

I did watch a bit of Glastonbury, but missed the Top Of The Bill bands and singers as that is a bit late in the evening for me by then, but did enjoy watching parts of the festival on BBC.

I got to say if you never been to a music festival they are worth it, definitely on my list to do’s for next year. Not been to one since I was pregnant, and so in need of one.

Anyway that is it for this week, many thanks for reading,

Enjoying the heat, NOT

Taking refuge from the heat in the library today, as some may like the weather this hot, but sorry to be a hater, but I don’t. I find it is unbearable hot, and both my son and I suffer with hayfever when it is this hot.

Sorry if I am gonna blog I have got to be honest.

It has been two weeks or so since I last blogged so thought great excuse to catch up.

I came across this yesterday, made me smile instantly and think with all the sad goings on in the passed weeks, it is good to watch something that makes you bounce off the sofa and back on again.

Please watch below of Will Smith with his son, on the Graham Norton show doing the theme tune of Prince of Bel Air, and someone else turns up aswell.

I really don’t want to spoil you watching the video above because you just have to keep watching. If you are like me and was a fan of Prince of Bel Air, then trust me you’ll like this.

I also came across this video too, which again also made me smile.

It kind of gives you a clue for the first video, but I think it is worth seeing both.

Sometimes when there are terrible things happening in the world, it is good to find things that make you glee in excitment.

Laughter is an amazing cure, you just have to find the thing that makes you beam inside, onto the outside.

I have been watching the The Voice Kids UK and my favourite performance so far has been this young lady.

I am now catching up on the Game Of Thrones, and had to keep looking away from parts, as it is very gorry.

If you haven’t read my parenting blogs The Parenting Adventures and The Parenting Adventures Tips and Tricks, you wouldn’t know that I am training my son to use the Potty. So I have been focused on that, and boy it is a challenge.

I will be posting on these blogs today too, as I have found some great videos, if you too are potty training aswell, there are tones of advice.

We did celebrate fathers day, by going to my mums and step dads house for a BBQ, and had a little paddling pool. Very nice! Then got back to watch Game Of Thrones. I got to say it is getting good, rewatching 3rd series to catch up where we left off.

Anyway off to blog some more on my other sites, so grab a cup of tea or a cold drinks, and I’ll see you over there.

Many thanks for reading,

My holiday Bournemouth 2017

Here is where we stayed, The Carrington House Hotel cost about £308.50 for 3 nights that included breakfast.

Was a nice hotel we had a good size room which could fit up to 6 people. The dinner was 12.50 per person, Henry our son was free.

The dinner was Buffet style of three courses. I liked the first two courses but cheesecake wasn’t nice.

The Boscombe Beach was gorgeous and we were very lucky with the weather. We walked down along the beach, having a dip in the sea as we walked.

I was envious of those sitting outside a beach hut. I so wanted one of my own, as the people whom had one, looked so relaxed and room to put drinks in and person was even cooking inside one of the sheds.

My hubby and son on the beach. It took my breath away with how lovely the beach was.

On our last day we walked the other way towards Bournemouth Pier and sat on Boscombe Pier on our way back, pure Heaven.

This was taken on our first day on our first walk along the amazing stretch of beach.

On the train back I felt sad that our short break away was coming to an end.

Another photo of the wonderful beach could not stop taking photos was so photo genic.

Above is our train ride to Poole where we meet my husband’s parents and had wonderful fish ‘n’ chips.

Below is of Poole Harbour where we had a bit of retail therapy. My husband bought a new pair of trainers and I bought Henry two pairs of shoes and myself all £3.99 each. I love a bargain.

The boys below watching a group playing frisbee.

Was a fabulous break away and would so recommend it if you are looking to go on a short break away. We will definitely return too.

Sad world

Once again we think everything is ok and yet another terror attack takes place and in an area, Borough Market, London Bridge, which my hubby and I know so well.

This terrible incident does not deter me to not go there again. What do these people who create such terror have on me?

NOTHING!

My heart goes out to those who were injured and killed. It isn’t just physical injuries that can effect those whom were there but mentally too.

We now must all pull together and say NO MORE TERROR!

Ground Force day

Hi today I did some gardening no clue really what I was doing but with help from my mum always my saviour, I managed to plant 4 flowering plants with one in water ready to put in my lawn for tomorrow.

Some flowers I had planted

I admit I am not gonna start acting as if I could give Alan Titmarsh a run for his money, but it’s a start.

Anyone who wants to learn how to garden has got to start somewhere so see how they grow, must remember to water some more tonight and tomorrow as we are on holiday.

I am so in need of seeing some sea and be near a beach. No more rain not in Bournemouth anyway so I can actually walk along the coast and have proper fish ‘n’ chips.

I have packed and trying to follow advise from hubby pack light, so I have. Three summer dresses, leggins, skirt and vest top. Sports bra, workout top, bottoms and one pair of shoes and flip flops and gonna wear my trainers there with one spare pair of socks.

So it’s just my hand luggage to sort as well do hubbies cards as it’s his birthday on Thursday.

I will post during or after holiday to share my so needed vacation. I hope if you are away you enjoy yours too.

Never stop building your world around you and the ones you love

I feel I need to pay tribute in my blog this week after the horrible scenes and footage of the terrible extrocites that took place at Manchester Arena, on Monday evening.

I will never give in to terror, and I am still gonna go to gigs, and meet up with my friends and family, as I feel we need to carry on, not allow ourselves to be beaten by these cowardly acts.

I have made various travels to the northern part of britain, following a rugby team, some years back, and they were some of the best times of my life. Having sing offs against the northern crowd, and making friends whilst up there too.

Sport and music are two things that will bring people together, and next time I am at a gig I am gonna sing even louder, and when I am at a football or a rugby match I am gonna cheer even louder.

We need our voices to be heard, and we will not allow terror to stop what our brits do the best, which is sing and shout our voices as high as we can, and say NO MORE TERROR, take it away from the world, as we will not allow TERROR beat us in any way.

There is a song called “Landslide” written by Stevie Nicks, which says a lot of words, and I discovered the tune, from an advert advertising dog food. I know strange but true, and I love the song. When listening to the song, I kept thinking, “How come I haven’t heard this song before now” especially as it is sung by a lady I have seen in concert, and whom I love the music of.

In the song it talks about how we build our world around, our children and the things we love, which we should do, and not allow anyone stop us from enjoying the things we love.

How ever hard life can be, no matter how many hurdles we have to climb, we need to carry on for our own pride and if we need to cry, let it out, if we need to shout, go for it, and then take a deep breath, and focus on the things that you love, what helps get you up in the morning.

Holiday Fever

Yes I have holiday fever at the moment, even though the weather is some what skeptical. I have been searching holidays in the last week as I am gasping to go on another cruise some where.

If you think cruises are for those who are passed their expiry date, then you are wrong. Cruises are brilliant for everyone, and I personally love them, that every time I think of Southampton, I think of the Quays.

I am soon to be off to Bournemouth with my son and my husband and I can already smell the sandy beach. I have decided I am going to be clearing out my suitcase that is stuck in my son’s wardrobe at the moment, which is loaded with Henry’s old baby clothes, and get started on the packing for our little break away.

I have even decided already, as my husband has already warned me not to take a lot,  on what I am going to be packing away with me. No it does not include the kitchen sink.

We aren’t driving there, but have already booked our train tickets. I would always suggest if you are booking and use the trains a lot to invest in a railcard, we haven’t this time, as we tend to drive most places, and I can always use my Oyster card now, as I tend to most of the time travel by train to London.

Railcards are only £30 or so and saved me a lot of money when I used to travel to London to the south coast a lot. Check out link below:

https://www.railcard.co.uk/

If you want to save more money, when eating out on holiday, why not invest in getting a Gourmet Society card, Kidspass or a Tastecard.

There are so many ways you can save money, you just have to shop around.

So Bournemouth here we come, so looking forward to the Sandy beach.
