Holiday Fever

Yes I have holiday fever at the moment, even though the weather is some what skeptical. I have been searching holidays in the last week as I am gasping to go on another cruise some where.

If you think cruises are for those who are passed their expiry date, then you are wrong. Cruises are brilliant for everyone, and I personally love them, that every time I think of Southampton, I think of the Quays.

I am soon to be off to Bournemouth with my son and my husband and I can already smell the sandy beach. I have decided I am going to be clearing out my suitcase that is stuck in my son’s wardrobe at the moment, which is loaded with Henry’s old baby clothes, and get started on the packing for our little break away.

I have even decided already, as my husband has already warned me not to take a lot,  on what I am going to be packing away with me. No it does not include the kitchen sink.

We aren’t driving there, but have already booked our train tickets. I would always suggest if you are booking and use the trains a lot to invest in a railcard, we haven’t this time, as we tend to drive most places, and I can always use my Oyster card now, as I tend to most of the time travel by train to London.

Railcards are only £30 or so and saved me a lot of money when I used to travel to London to the south coast a lot. Check out link below:

https://www.railcard.co.uk/

If you want to save more money, when eating out on holiday, why not invest in getting a Gourmet Society card, Kidspass or a Tastecard.

There are so many ways you can save money, you just have to shop around.

So Bournemouth here we come, so looking forward to the Sandy beach.

Many thanks for reading,

Some changes

Hi All! I have decided to write on this page today, and from now on. Here will be my weekly everyday living and lifestyle blogs.

I am looking forward to the end of the month as I will be going to Bournemouth for a nice break away with my hubby and son.

I will video my holiday, post on my instagram account Carriesrealworld.com

Plus on my Youtube account below where all my Days in a life and weekly type vlogs will be posted from now on.

I am planning some more changes for 2018 and one I have decided is that all my blogs will be on my WordPress sites (see links below):

https://carriesversitilefashion.wordpress.com

https://everyonecanbuildacastle.wordpress.com

https://theparentingadventures.wordpress.com

https://theparentingadventurestipsandtricks.com

https://sportsandfitnesspassion.wordpress.com

and use my carriesrealworld.com website as like my home search engine page where my blogs and videos will be linked.

I am gonna post more videos on my instagram account, plus I will be posting my videos on this website but also on cazzas  homemade life youtube channel. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCVjvO2fsowvFne_iMuG7d1g

I will be letting you know of other changes at we get nearer to next year.

Sometimes a change is what you need, and I am going to be updating my garden so when this done I will post a video of the before and after. I will post a picture of my current look of my Guest bedroom, as all I need to add is more pictures and some more decor and this room after 3 years of planning will finally be complete and I will post a video of this too.

Managing the home can be tricky when you have children, but having husband that is keen on keeping things clean is a massive bonus.

I have been watching a lot of youtube, and I have been watching more on about make up and skincare, as I love skincare and beauty. I do have a regular routine, in the evening and mornings, as I do suffer with dry skin.

I got to say Victoria Beckham tips on make up and fashion have been my favourite things to watch. See video below of one.

So I will be posting more blogs today on my other pages, I am so glad I have library with lots of computers, and I can post using my phone too.

However for this page, many thanks for reading and have a great rest of the week,

Carrie X

What I’ve been up to

Hi Welcome! If you are new to my website then here I post blogs about my everyday living and lifestyle.

I have just written a new blog on my website https://theparentingadventurestipsandtricks.wordpress.com

We are now potty training Henry so thought I would share with how it is going in my parenting blog (see link above).

I wish everyone a well done, who took part in the London Marathon last weekend, you are all trully A.M.A.Z.I.N.G, some of the stories were so heart felt. I am so determined to do the marathon now, that I will keep trying to enter, even if I do have to beg, or

ONLY JOKING!

Any how I would still want to take on the Virgin London Marathon, I would feel a million dollars if I did. So wish to do it, just one of the things I still got on my Wish/to do lists of events.

I am so shocked with how fast this year has gone fast.

Sorry for the lack of videos, I will do this again, but I have had computer problems so I am at the library today catching up on my blogs.

I am gonna film some of my weekend coming, as my father and mother in law are coming down, so I will film on instagram, and will put a video up on Youtube, once I have computer at home or laptop, in working order.

I did update my fitness blog on my site:

https://sportsandfitnesspassion.wordpress.com

I updated my fitness diary 2017. Being go well, I didn’t go to the gym today because Henry was a bit sad when I dropped him off at nursery this morning, so I have been on standby in case I needed to pick him up.

PureGym is really good gym, and you can pay as you go, it is about £6.99 a session which isn’t bad and am looking to actually join for good. Gonna put that thought on hold for a bit. I am gonna us it Friday morning instead, as I am off the whole of this weekend coming and really looking forward to it.

HOORAY

I will post a blog sharing my weekend and what we did. I do have a plan, but won’t mention because I don’t want to jinx it, just in case. I just hope the sun has its hat on.

I have been posting a lot of products I have been using on Instagram in terms of make up and skincare. I got to say if you need some skincare products, I looked this morning and Boots are doing a load of deals, so gonna head back there shortly and pick something up as I bought a lovely Bronze Eyeshadow Palette from Wilkos for £4 I will post a picture of this on my instagram, to show you.

The link to my instagram page is:

https://www.instagram.com/cazzarealworld40/

I really love my skincare and make up. I don’t store loads because I am trying my best to use up what I have got, but add to my collection, so it blends into what I already have.

My next buy will be to buy a proper vanity or dressing table, as I like to have actual station for all my make up, but it not set out properly and my son has the habit of taking some of my make up and throwing it, so hence why I need a new dressing table.

I haven’t been watching much TV, but I have been watching a lot of music concerts, like Billy Joel and Elton John, face to face, on Youtube which is available to purchase on Amazon, and Bruce Springsteen, I would love to see him live.

We tend to watch Wipeout UK and Takeshi’s castle in the evenings on freeview channel Challenge.

So that is what I have been up to, and I will post again varely soon again.

Have a fab bank holiday weekend,

Thanks for reading,

We did 4 Parks

Visit London

This week. well Monday we did 4 parks. Holland Park, Kensington Gardens, Hyde Park and St James Park.

Today we did Kensington gardens, Hyde Park and visited once again, one of my sons favourites places the Science Museum. I take him to the Basement part, where you have a little soft play trolley thing with cushions, large Lego Bricks, a climbing frame, a water attraction with little boats and other activities children can do.

Holland Park has a lovely sandy playground inside, and some gorgeous gardens. Then from there along a bit further down, passed Kensington High Street onto Kensington Palace Gate, you’ll pass the albert memorial and Albert hall on your right, or the other end leads to Notting hill Gate. You’ll see these wonderful attractions as you walk through Kensington gardens, then onto if you walk along that end, of the royal park, which then leads to, Hyde Park. The road in between these two, if you take a right from Kensington gardens side, and carry on down this road, keep going you will come to the Imperial College. Then close by you come to the entrance to the Science Museum.

Through Hyde Park there is the Serpentine where you can have a bite to eat or a brew.

A great Spring and Summer treat, and place to be. We saw the Queens guards today playing music looking towards Kensington Palace Gate. This is an amazing sight to see, in their armour.

There are several ends to Hyde Park. if you walk down along passed the entrance near Bayswater, Lancaster Gate side, this will lead you onto Marble Arch which leads you onto Bond Street, Oxford street and the other end near Kensington will lead you towards Green Park, St James Park, Victoria and if you head towards Green Park you can end up in Piccadilly Circus, where you’ll find the Trocadero.

It can be so easy to get lost in such a big city like London, and even though I spent 18 years of my life living in London, I still have gotten lost at times.

Check out Visit London (link above the start of this blog).

However even I have managed to find my way around the big city.

There are plenty of buses you can catch, into London and trains too.

If you ever are lost always ask a cab driver as they always should know where they are going, or find the local tourist information.

The parks are great for running aswell as walking and playing. They often hold concerts and events. Plus running and fundraising events too, like Race for Life, the Royal Parks half marathon and many more.

So where do you like to go and what places would you recommend visiting.

I would love to know.

Many thanks for reading,

Celebrate National Women’s Day

Yes today is National Women’s Day, and I do think being able to grow another human being inside  your tummy,  is truly magnificent if not a miracle.

We I think as women not saying men don’t as well, but put a lot of pressure on ourselves,  I am so guilty of that. So have that manicure, that steaming hot bath, that dress you have had your eye on and have that glass of wine.

Why not, we have something to celebrate.

The Women who inspire me are people like Oprah Winfrey, because of how honest she has been and the fact she would talk about real life issues, which she has gone through. Her battle with her weight and how I remember one show she read her diaries about her battle with trying to stay slim and the mistakes she made.

The other women are Judy Garland, for her amazing voice, and I think she had an amazing smile; starred in some amazing films one being the most famous, Wizard Of Oz.

Then you have Queen Elizabeth, who hasn’t been well recently, but always makes and effort no matter what. Kate Middleton, now Duchess of Cambridge, I think she has shown how down to earth she is, and how professional she is, and still being a young mum and wife.

Diana of course. I cried my heart out when she lost her life and it still makes me tingle with how sad that week was when she lost her life. She gave so much to her charities and effort she went to, to stop Landmines Truly magnificent.

So lets raise a glass to all the ladies who have inspired us and continue to do so.

Many thanks for reading.

Dream

My dream home consists of Nigella Lawson’s Pantry, Jamie Oliver’s kitchen, living by the sea, with a huge garden, a music room, a home cinema, gym and Carrie Bradshaw’s walk in Closet, a home office of my own and Games room for Elv and Henry, who would also have a playroom, and a room where we can entertain our friends and family.

Will these things ever become a reality who knows but it is still good to dream.

I daydream all the time about living a different lifestyle, being in a totally different environment, and being surrounded by different people, who I haven’t even met.

Sometimes the dream is better than the reality, from experience sometimes the reality can be disappointing to the fantasy you see in the image of your mind.

I sometimes dream when I sleeping of an entire film from the beginning or the end, and it can be a film I have seen, or it can be a film I am in.

I use this to help me with my writing, and jot them down as dreams are a great source as a writer.

Never under estimate the power of the dream, as many an idea has come from someone dreaming of it first, visualising.

In my blog website https://everyonecanbuildacastle.wordpress.com

I talk about visualisation, about those who first thought of building a castle, came from someones mind and imagination. They would have dreamt it whether awake or a sleep.

Dreams are dreams. There are bad dreams too, and it is up to you to decide if you want to the good dreams to come true or not. That is the power of the mind.

However sometimes, it is best to be left as a dream, and live for the now too.

So dream a little dream, and if it brings and idea of a job you want or a place you would like to be, as I often dream  of travelling then why not make the dream a reality.

Many thanks for reading,

Hello! Feels like ages since I wrote on this page. I have just written a new blog on my website The Parenting Adventures Tips and Tricks site.

https://theparentingadventurestipsandtricks.wordpress.com

Talking about, learning the transitions and adjusting to them, as your child grows. Such as Potty Training which we are beginning to do, and then it will be nursery to may be a Pre-school to going to actual school.

Time travels fast, so I have been trying more to focus on today instead of looking to far ahead. The things I do write down is any appointments for Henry and myself, in terms of health and wellbeing.

I can’t believe we are in March already in 2017 but we are.

My favourites things this year so far has  been, using my Balis and Harding gift set, I bought at Christmas and my Botanics from Wilkinsons. (See below)

0438002_m

I would definitley recommend. At the moment I am using my tinted the Avon Skin So Soft tinted body lotion, thats what I used today after my shower, along with The Original Champneys Health Spa Citrus Blush Enlivening Body Butter.

prod_1176593_1_613x613
https://www.avon.uk.com/product/306-354-1201/toiletries/skin-so-soft/skin-so-soft-enhance-glow-gradual-tan-lotion-for-medium-skin

Would recommend and would buy this again, it is now about £8.00 for the body butter, but I don’t mind paying for that product, if it lasts for a long time and feel good quality. It is very smooth to put on and great if you just want to moisterise and then get dressed and go.

My favourite song has been the song, Human by Rag ‘n’ Bone Man. Brilliant song, my favourite this part of the year.

A song played by radio Jackie yesterday whilst travelling back from dropping of something for my mum and to pick up my laptop and it is a song called, I won’t let you down again, by Ph. D; takes me back as a young child, and must have been when I first heard it play. It came out in 1982, and as a child we often would play around in Chelsea in London, because that was where my nan lived, and my parents friends were.

It was in a Public House (Pub) called The Riley. No we didn’t drink but back then it wasn’t so frowned upon for kids to be in a pub. There is an estate at the back of this pub, aswell as some shops along side it, where many of my mum and family lived, and we would play in the play ground there a lot.

I remember, because we would travel from Hammersmith,  having to wait ages for the number 11 bus to take us there. You think the transport and traffic is bad now, we would wait a good hour some days for a bus to turn up. However there were no Oyster cards bac k then and it wasn’t that expensive to travel by bus then or train.

Chelsea the place itself, has always been famous since I remember, especially the Kings Road for being the trendy place to be, and still is. It has built up since the days I used to spend my childhood there, that slowly but surely some of the old Chelsea has slowly disappeared. Nevertheless I have some great memories of the passed, and it is still a place I like to go back to even if it is travelling by bus or walking along the embankment.

What music brings back your memories would alive that make you smile. Also what skin care products have you used that you would recommend. I would love to hear from you.

Many thanks for reading,

Getting Ahead of myself

Please go over to my main website, where I talk more about this week at http://www.carriesrealworld.com

I want to get ahead of myself this year. So this week I am dedicating to Valentines Day.

Less than a month away, and I will be creating videos too, leading up to the day.

I used to be so resentful when it came to valentines, I saw it as a waste of money, and it’s only created for companies to get more money out of people.

However as I have gotten older, and I would like to think wiser, I do see it differently.

It is how you make it that matters.

I use it as a way for myself and hubby to treat each other, and this year we are going to make gifts for one another this year.

You don’t have to spend money, but if you did want to get a little something or decorate your home to celebrate the day, then there are some good low cost items.

I will be showing some good gift ideas in a video soon.

Plus giving tips on “How to meet someone”.

I have been married for over 10 years now, and no I am not an expert at relationships, and I was never a girl whom had loads of boyfriends. I suffered with social anxiety and to beat fears of meeting someone, you need to get yourself out of the house.

Being within 4 walls isn’t gonna make yourself feel better.

Check out Amazon for some great Valentines Decor and gifts, they always have such a good collection.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=valentines+day+decor+and+gifts&rh=i%3Aaps%2Ck%3Avalentines+day+decor+and+gifts

Happy Valentines Day Personalised Teddy Heart Chocolate Bar 100g Personalised Teddy Heart Chocolate

Check out gift above from Amazon, Happy Valentines Personalised Teddy Heart Chocolate bar  for £3.94 by Gift Rush.

Themed Cushions, this can be bought for Valentines or for a Wedding Anniversary coming up. If it happens to be on the same day, then why not celebrate by adding these to your home.

Price: £2.99 by Omiky.

Or why not check out Poundland they always have some great items for valentines, and I got a lot of items from there last year that I used. I gave one to my husband for fathers day aswell as valentines day.

Valentine's Day Heart Cushion

Check out this cushion for example, great if you don’t wanna pay over £2 from Amazon, as what I would say is check delivery, when ordering items from Amazon, to see how long it will take. Remember that if you become a Prime member you can get a lot of items next day delivery free of charge, or even on the same day, depending on where it is shipped from.

If Poundland is on your doorstep then it is worth checking it out, for those fun and quirky gifts and home decor.

Valentine's Day Memory Box

Check out this Valentines Day Memory box, from Poundland, great to store some keepsakes; those photos from when you first met up until present, or a gift your partner first bought you.

My advice is to have fun and not to take it seriously. I see these yearly occasions to have fun and celebrate them with who ever you love.

Many thanks for reading,

Thursday’s, cleaning and pottering

Hello all! Happy New year to you, if you didn’t see my first blog I wrote at the new year.

Please check out some new blogs I have written on my blog websites:

https://sportsandfitnesspassion.wordpress.com

https://theparentingadventurestipsandtricks.wordpress.com

Thursdays for me are my catching up on cleaning, pottering around and doing what I feel like day, as Wednesday’s are getting my online content together and filming, editing.

I do, do a bit of cleaning aswell, on other days, but my main days are Mondays and Thursdays.

I like having a day in, a day where I can sleep in if I wish to and catch up on errands, watch a bit of morning TV, and potter around.

My favourite thing.

Pottering around is bliss for me.

I don’t have to get dressed if I do not wish to, but I will put some day clothes on and may if I feel like it put a bit of make up on too, but sometimes I don’t even feel like doing that.

It is important to me, to have a day of calm, do what I want, when I want and not have to follow any particular schedule, as I can become overwhelmed when I have too many structured days.

The other great part is that I get to spend some quality time with my son, as tomorrow he will be at nursery for most of the day, so I get to play, watch a bit of children’s TV (This morning Mr Tumble, which he loved) and help him with his development, which I was doing this morning.

I am going to go and put some clothes on now, as we are going to spend sometime out in the garden before this snow/rain blizzard we are supposed to have, arrives.

Apparently it is supposed to set, so looks like it will be a great time to get out those Snow-slays, and I will take Henry out in the snow, if it does, as I feel it is important for him to experience.

I know snow can be a pain in the butt, because the train system isn’t good at the best of times, but can come to a halt when it snows and cause problems with the traffic, but here in surrey and being from London originally, snow isn’t something that we often experience, so I like to enjoy it when it does.

All I would say is to wrap up, and put some non slip shoes on like wellies or snow boots, and let the kids have fun.

Many thanks for reading,

Happy New Year 2017

cheers

Even now at the age of 38, it still feels strange that two days ago it was 2016 and now we are in 2017.

I still find it difficult to get my head around. No idea why, its just a number.

I want to say “Hang on a minute not ready for this switch over just yet”.

However here I am on Monday 2nd of January at 19:39 hours, blogging on this site for the first time in the new year of 2017.

How many of us were looking forward to the new year? Not looking back on 2016?

I know it was a difficult year for my family and I, due to the loss of someone close to us.

There is no going back once we move forward in time.

Time can either be with us or against us, and one thing I have learned from last year is that every minute in the present has to be treasured as life can so quickly change before you know it.

This year, like the ones before, I am not going to make resolutions as such but life changes that will help continue to move me forward so I don’t get lost in the time, and make the most of the present.

The other thing I am make each year is a wish list and these are for 2017, as follows…

My Wish list for 2017

  • Go to a music festival, I am in need of a good Gig
  • Visit a Cider Festival
  • Go to the Borough Market and buy some lovely food and drink to bring home
  • A Vanity unit or Dressing Table for my bedroom
  • A new smart TV
  • Join a fitness class
  • Go to a football match
  • Take Henry to a rugby match

Then I have other goals which I set every year and little goals along the way to help me towards the big goals.

Never over exceed yourself, prioritize and make this year better than the last

It all about living the moment and forgetting about the past that can never be altered, but learned from.

Many thanks for reading,
