Pop down to Selsey

After going to a lovely wedding at the weekend, my mum, son and I took a trip down to Selsey to see my Auntie and Uncle and Cousins.

Yesterday we walked a long the coastal line, along by the beach had a bite to eat then walked on into the town.

The town is pretty small but has shops like Boots pharmacy and food places.

We went to see the Lifeboat as my Auntie works there in the gift shop as a volunteer, and we not really allowed, but was let onto the Lifeboat to have a look inside.

There a lot houses, which are holiday homes along the coastal front, and there are a few parks along the way too.

It is a pebbly beach but worth walking along as you can see to you right as you go long the isle of wight and Portsmouth and to your left Bognor Regis.

A lovely little place to go, and would like to do more travelling along the south coast of England as it is worth seeing and visiting.

Off to a wedding

It is Friday and my hubby and I are off to a wedding in Winchester.

I am looking forward to the drive and going to Winchester not been there before, so will be nice to see the place.

Being married the one bit advice I would give is make the most of the day, because it goes so fast, before you know it, it was a week ago, then a year ago.

I have my outfit ready, the jacket is from New look and the dress is from TKMaxx.

I also have two pairs of shoes, one pair flat and the other a sandal both from New Look, I would take a photo but they are packed safely in my bag.

What you up to this weekend? I would love to hear from you.

Went to see Mama Mia

It is Sunday early evening and it is still boiling hot, I am melting as I sit in my bedroom to write this post. It is so hot that my son has striped himself naked.

I wish I could get away with that, knowing all our windows are open so my neighbours would get an eye full if I did strip off. I not long have had a cold shower and I am melting again already.

No I am not complaining it is good to have such a good summer but I am typical English gal and not used to this heat.

I have had a good weekend though I went to see Mama Mia 2. I liked it, I thought it was much better than the first one, which now I have to see again, as to be honest I haven’t really sat down to really watch it, but seen snippets, so think I am gonna have a Mama Mia catch up when the second one comes out on DVD, so I can watch both back to back.

He is a snippet from the second film

Earlier today I was playing some of ABBA’s hits whilst my husband was painting our house.

What did you get up to at the weekend? I would love to hear.

Rainy days and hot weather

I don’t want to moan about the heat, because in Britain I have come to know bad summers where there has been less hot days than cold days.

The heat has affected my sleep but I am still not going to moan.

It felt good getting out early this morning, dropping my son off at nursery, but was tired out from walking to walk anymore, I had to get the bus back.

Now I am sitting on my bed, sweating buckets, but I know it not gonna be any cooler outside, and like I said there are thunderstorms on the way.

Since writing this blog it has rained and we did have a thunderstorm, so entertained myself by cleaning and playing some tunes, and watching some videos on Youtube.

The tune I am loving at the moment is by Ultravox, “Dancing with tears in my eyes”

What tunes do you like to play when it is raining and you don’t want to go outside?

I’d love to hear from you.

Visiting London

I just wrote a post about Living on £20 a week in London when I came across this article on Bloglovin about 53 Free things to do in London.

I am proud to be a Londoner and do feel sadness when terrible things happen like the knife crime, it is such a shame, but apart from that it is a great place to go.

I love walking around the National parks, and visiting the museums.

Go and check this article above if you are thinking about travelling to London.

Living on £20 a week

As a lover of Youtube, I came across this video about a young girl who was set a challenge to only spend £20 a week in London, and it inspired me, to look at my own finances.

Watch video below:

It amazes me how much it is to have a sandwich in a coffee shop, compared to making the same sandwich at home, yet I can’t help myself, so going to spend more time using up what I have at home before I go out and buy anything.

Travelling up to London, and back to Epsom is about £10 a time, for one journey, so gonna start finding other travel methods instead.

See what I can do locally rather than travelling up to London all the time, I just love to walk up there and my son loves the train, so perhaps I should just spend money on my Oyster cards, and then it will help make the journey cheaper.

How do you save money ? I would love to hear from you.

Is Football Coming Home?

Tonight’s the night, Semi Final time. Check out my blog post on wrote on my blog site https://sportsandfitnesspassion.wordpress.com

I feel I need to be careful about what I say as I in no way want to jinx tonight’s result, I just believe it will be a good game and we just have to play our hearts out, until we win it.

My favourite World Cup song for me, because it has such significance, it was when I first began to love football, was World in Motion. England’s World Cup song from Italia 90.

I still get goose bumps when I here Football’s Coming home.

I can’t end this blog without mentioning Nessun Dorma, my dad could not stop playing this song and always one of his favourites songs and mine too. It brings so many good memories.

What is your favourite World Cup song?

Went to the Cinema

Whilst it was boiling hot outside, my other half and I decided to take a trip to Wimbledon, have a few drinks whilst watching the football, France Vs Argentina, and then take a trip to the cinema.

Whilst watching the football in the Prince Of Wales Pub, I had a glass of Old Moat Cider, Cherry Berry. Very nice and refreshing drink that I had to take a photo. I would definitely have that again.

We decided to see Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom. The tickets were £19.25 each but we managed as it wasn’t busy to upgrade for free and sit in the Premier Seats. We went to the Odeon Cinema in Wimbledon.

The film was good packed with action and surprise, and it wasn’t too unrealistic.

You felt sorry, well I did, for the Dinosaurs, you wanted them to be saved, apart from the big one, which you’ll see if you go to see the film. I liked that there wasn’t too much romance, and it was about saving the Dinosaurs from being killed. I wouldn’t definitely see it again when it comes out on DVD.

So what have you been up to ? What films have you seen ? I would love to hear from you.

Great Weekends

Picture I took up at The Epsom Downs, from the Beafeater in Tattenham Corner

I had a brilliant bank holiday weekend, spending time family. We spent sometime close by the River Thames, having a drink in Putney.

There some really nice bars in Putney along the river and along the high street.

Then we head a lovely meal up at the Epsom Downs on the Sunday in the Beafeater, and had a lovely Sunday lunch. Definitely would recommend.

Then last weekend, took Henry to Rugby Tots, which is great for children 2 years and upwards, and get to know their colours and learn some rugby skills, like scoring a try and kicking the ball. Then watched the Epsom Derby, this is great day out, watching some horse racing and you can take your own picnics along, whilst sunbathing (when the weather is nice, like it was).

The weekend just gone, my mum and I took my son to Hobbledown, which has some animals and kids playing areas, where they can climb, jump and slide. They even have an indoor softplay area too.

So good to have these days out, as it is good for those memories that last forever.

How do you spend your weekends?  Where do  you like to go? It would be great to hear from you and gather some ideas.

Wedding Fever

Since the royal wedding last Saturday I now have wedding fever and won’t stop watching it. It was such a beautiful wedding and day, that now I just want to keep reliving it.

It takes me back to my day. I married in Southampton, in a Tudor Hall, which I found whilst watching a documentary about Southampton, then saw it in a picture in a wedding venue magazine.

Choosing a venue can be hard as you can get married in most places now. I originally wanted to get married at Arundel Castle, but this was way out of our budget, so then looked at getting married at the local Racecourse, Goodwood, but then there was accommodation, because I have a lot of family who would be travelling from London and from north of England.

So as soon as I saw the documentary about the Tudor Hall in Southampton I knew this was the place. It has to feel right and when you look at a venue take a moment to take it all in, can you picture your wedding there?

Can you decorate it as you’d like?

Is there good accommodation nearby?

In our case there was.

The only issue we had was our wedding clashed with the Boat Show in Southampton, so many of the hotels had already been booked up. Keep in contact with the Event Managers of the Venue in case they have a staff change over which they did at the hotel we chose. What had been agreed in their contract, when we payed the deposit hadn’t been carried out, and so we had to make further alterations as the hotel was also holding our wedding reception afterwards.

Then we had to at last minute find a new DJ as the one we booked had cancelled out on the day 4 hours before our wedding reception was about to start.

It didn’t all go to plan but it was a great day and would love to relive it again if I could.
