A typical routine for me, is dependent on if I am working at a nursery or not. I work part time as a Nursery Practitioner. A routine for me is essential and helps keep me structured.
I am a early bird always have been, not through choice but through my automatic body clock. I usually wake up between 4:3O to 5:30am and get up between 6-6:30am.
Getting up early is important to me as it does help me get my arse in gear and get on with my day. I will often now do some work on my blogs in the morning before my son gets up. Not always a success but it does help to get on with something in the morning it just gives me that boost of energy.
When my husband is off which is not always the case, I do take advantage and do some early morning cleaning, or we go out to the shops early, and helps spread out the rest of the day.

It was a brilliant new year, one I shall never forget. We traveled to Southampton to see my husband’s parents.
Firstly when we arrived we took my husbands real mum and her husband for a coffee in a place called Woolston. Not that many shops, but there is the Woolston Cafe there and they do a lovely full English Breakfast, or you can have other meals too and a drink.
As you drive through to Southampton you come across the harbour, with many boats. It is a beautiful place and I get goose bumps whenever we drive to Southampton.
Then we went to see my husbands real dad and step mum, who live in a place called Sholing, which has a few shops, but it is mainly houses. It was a lovely surprise to them as we didn’t say that we were coming down on new years eve, and they loved the surprise.
We had a bite to eat there and then went out to a pub called The Juniper Berry where they had Karaoke, at which my father in-law got up and sang a few songs.
Then went round to one of our friends in Southampton place to celebrate the new year and had a few drinks in doors.

The next day we stayed mainly indoors with my husbands dad and step mum, watching some old films. My husband and I did take a little walk up to the shop, but that was all we did do in terms of going out.
On Wednesday we celebrated my husbands dads birthday, and started off in a pub called the Heartbreakers, which was a nice little pub round the back of town very quiet but very comfortable.
They do a huge range of drinks and I was drinking Symonds Cider.

In between visiting the Heartbreakers we went round to Christina’s for a bite to eat, they do a whole range of nice food. I had my favourite, scampi and chips, which I know it is not healthy, but when I am on holiday I like to treat myself a little bit.
Then on from Heartbreakers we walked to another pub called The Angel, which had again wasn’t packed so plenty places to sit and we all each put on some music on the jukebox. There were a good variety, plus they had the football on live aswell.
It was a really brilliant evening and good to play some music and have a drink at the same time.
Southampton is great for shopping aswell and they have a great selection if you like me, like shopping in charity shops, aswell high street stores like Primark, Marks and Spencers and Debenhams.
I also love going down to the Quay but not much was open on this day, and none of the big Cruise ships were in, so we didn’t go down there this time.
In any case we still had a fantastic time and I would totally recommend it.

Looking back and reflecting on 2018, it hasn’t been a bad year, with lots of memories to look back on.
Taking Henry to the seaside was something I wanted to do this year and we got to do it, check out my blog post I wrote about visiting Selsey to see Henry’s cousins and extended family. He got to see a real life Lifeboat, and go to go on it too.

We also go to see the RAF 100 years fly path, which was amazing to see, we stood and watched it from the start of the fly path, by the Southbank, in London.

It was magical to watch and my son was fascinated by it all.
I wrote and published my third book and my second book of The Parenting adventures, Baby to Toddler years.
I have another book waiting to be released which is coming out in the near year.
I did do a lot of what I wanted by starting a new career as a nursery practitioner aswell a growing my blogs and books.
I enjoyed the Royal Weddings I thought they made the year extra special and wish them all the happiness in the world.
My passion is writing and sharing parts of my world on blogs and books, to help others out there, and thank so much in reading my blogs and books I am truly grateful and look forward to writing and sharing in 2019.

It was a lovely day, my husband and I got to spend some time together just the two of us, and went for a coffee and looked in some shops. I bought a new diary to go with my collection this year from TK Maxx it was £9.99.
My son got to spend some time with his cousins and received as a gift from my mum and step dad, a new bike.
My son and his cousin Gracie got to play on their new bikes, as she received one too, in the playground of my step dad’s school.
We had dinner, of roast beef, baked potatoes, coleslaw and Yorkshire puddings and then dessert the children had ice cream, whilst the adults had cheese cake.
We got to open some more gifts, at which I received a new watch and a bracelet, which I will post some pictures of, and my husband was given a new fleece type jumper.
It has been a good Christmas and then we are off to Southampton for the new years, so I will post about this soon.

Shopping in ASDA last weekend, no I am not sponsored, as I try to avoid the shops as we get nearer to Christmas, as I can’t stand the chaos, I saw that ASDA were doing Mulled Wine for £2.75.
It was delicious, definitely a bargain and worth the price.
The Turkey Breast Joint and Gammon Joint we purchased from Iceland’s was nice too, not dry just lovely and tender.
We haven’t tried our mini Christmas puddings or cakes yet but we will try those in a couple of days.
I did like Tesco Cranberry Sauce was nice with the Turkey, worth a pound, and the vegetables and the potatoes in goose fat were lovely, and all done in the oven, not one item was cooked on the hob.
It was a lovely tasty meal.
I was so stuffed afterwards I couldn’t eat another thing, so waited a bit later to have a mince pie with a cup of tea.
Christmas Day went really well and looking forward to today, as we are off to my mums to see Henry’s cousins and to celebrate Christmas some more.

My favourite films at Christmas is You’ve go mail with Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks, I just love the innocence of the movie and how they finally realise that they already know each other.
Then Mary Poppins, the old version, not the new one that has just been released. I am sorry but you can’t beat the classics and it always brings me such excitement every time I see the film.
My son and I are loving Polar Express at the moment, and we’ve watched twice in two days. I just love the magic of it and my son because he loves trains, loves the film.
I can’t forget the old classic, A Christmas Carol, about Scrooge and is visited by the ghost of Christmas passed and present. I love the old black and white version.
Then there are films like The Snowman, it always brings me goosebumps each year and never grow sick of it.
Groundhog day with Bill Murray, absolutely hilarious and never grow sick of it, it still makes me laugh every time I watch it.
I am looking forward seeing some of these films this Christmas again and again.

This week we took my son to the Santa’s Grotto, at the Chessington Garden Centre. You do have to book way ahead of time as it tends to sell out rather quickly, but was really lovely to go.
Chessington Garden centre is on the Leatherhead road about two minutes away from Chessington World of Adventures.
We had a bite to eat in the cafe and which came to about £16 but not bad for 3 of us as my son had something to eat aswell, and you can get some lovely Christmas gifts there too.
We did the fantastic Christmas Wonderland experience, which is sold out this year, but worth planning on going to as of next year. You get to meet the creations team and make a gift for father Christmas, and then you follow it around to see the fantastic wonderland and get to see some familiar characters from those famous films and books.
Then at the end you get to meet the man himself, Father Christmas.
